Refined Coal Tar (Brushing Tar)
Coal Tar/Brushing Tar is a heavy duty traditional tar coating. It is frequently specified for English Heritage and National Trust properties such as clay lump windmill towers and historical wooden barns. It is long lasting and very effective but certain limitations apply and should be researched thoroughly before use. This product is also restricted for professional use. This product is naturally slow drying but penetrates deep into the surface. It can also become slightly soft in warm weather but it is also not advisable to apply in cold weather as it gets thicker. Ideal for use a membrane for fence posts below ground.
It is also used where the most traditional black finish is required on timber, concrete & clay lump. Also as a traditional coating for wooden boats. It is specified by numerous county councils and architects. Please note: This product is traditional and the decorative finish cannot be guaranteed. It is not to be used in conjunction with bituminous products.
