Wood Oils
Bird Brand Wood Oils are a range of traditional and natural oils to protect and nourish timber and other porous surfaces. The wood oils are part of the new Craftsman Range and designed to be attractive and informative to user and retailers. The Wood Oil products are mostly from derivatives of natural vegetable oils and used for their drying, sealing or feeding properties. They may need more frequent application than modern varnishes but there is a timeless appeal to a natural finish.

Black Timber Stain and Premium Barn Paint
We supply several black products which are ideal for barns (residential or non residential) which provide a stable long lasting finish. There are 2 products in this group -For a matt stain effect on fences and non residential buildings we have Bird Brand Black Timber Stain. For residential barns wanting a satin finish with UV protection which can be applied over previous tar finishes and available in Black and White we have the Bird Brand Premium Barn Paint. Traditional Coal Tar Coatings
Bird Brand have supplied tar products for 8 generations and although some are no longer available but we still stock the best and most popular. Apart from the New Formula Black Tar Varnish the products here are for professional use only but often the finish cannot be obtained with modern products. However as there is a need for decorative and lower hazard products these are feaured in the section 'Black Stains and Coatings for Barns & Buildings'. Traditional tar product are meant for heritage and listed buildings (barns and windmills) to satisy local planning requirements and for metal and wooden boats and barges needing protection.
Bituminous and Protective Paints
The Bird Brand range of protective Paints are well suited to applications needing real protection at a reasonable price. For a low cost protective coat on metal we have the Black Bituminous Paint and for extra rust protection we have the oxide paints and metal protective coating.
Timber Treatments, Creosotes & Wood Preservers
Our complete range of wood preservatives and treatments. Preservatives are registered with the UK Health & Safety Executive and contain a biocide proven to be effective against certain insects and rotting fungae.
Treatments are not HSE registered but may protect timber in other way using repellant waxes or just primarily to colour and decorate.
DIY Spirits and Solvents
We supply many different types of solvents and spirits and the most popular is the Bird Brand White Spirit & Turpentine Substitute. Our new Craftsman Range includes the other specialist solvents which are available for DIY use. All are available in a wide range of sizes.
