    Regular use of Citric Acid will eradicate limescale buildup and prolong the life of appliances in hard water areas. As well as the following, Citric Acid can also be used on showerheads and many types of coffee machines (where recommended). Surface cleaner: Dissolve 40g in 500ml of cold water and put in a trigger spray bottle.  Proving a less smelly alternative to white vinegar. Washing machines: Only for stainless-steel drum machines. Tip 300g of granules into the tray and run the program temperature @ 60 °C. Dishwashers: Fill up the tablet drawer with Citric granules and pour another 200g into the bottom of the empty machine. Run the normal program. Kettles: Half-fill the kettle with water and boil. Unplug and pour in 100g of citric granules.  Leave for 20 minutes. Rinse out thoroughly and boil fresh water twice before using as normal. Wipe down the kettle exterior to avoid staining. Irons: Only do so if required by the manufacturer. Unplug and pour in a diluted solution containing of 2 tablespoons of Citric and hot water to fill the iron reservoir. Hold the iron over a bowl/sink and turn on the steam. Wash out & spray out fresh water. Do a hot test to ensure that no staining will occur.
